Staying True

I have seen a lot of changes and developments in the 'style' of scrapbooking since I began 10 something years ago. I am always open to trying and learning something new. Upon seeing the recent changes, I came to question myself ..... whether I wanted to compromise my own style to 'copy' the new trends or stay true to my own style that I have developed over the years?
After taking time away to ruminate over this conundrum and almost giving scrapbooking away because I was not enjoying the pressure to keep up with the 'new' ....... I came to the conclusion that I will stay true to my own style and incorporate some of the new trends into my style, but not be dictated by the new trends. From reaching this conclusion, I can honestly say that I am happier scrapping now than I have been in along time.
I was at the Little Scrapbook Shop annual retreat a fortnight ago and was so happy with some of my creations. I had the pleasure of scrapping with two of the new Kaisercraft ranges "Christmas Carol" and another yet to be released range for SCRAPBOOK SUPPLIES ONLINE as well as the
Echo Park "Beautiful Life" range and here are my creations.
I was also lucky enough to win the retreat card sketch challenge to receive the prize of a brand new QuicKutz Revolution Die Cut machine too.

  4. I think you are right... staying true to your own style is when you feel the most comfortable and when you produce your best work! Lucky that you rock so many different styles - vintage, shabby chic, kids, pets... the list goes on!! xxx
